German Ambassador Peter Fischer has been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As he stated before entering the ministry, this is the first time in the history of modern Georgian relations with Germany that a German ambassador has been summoned to the ministry.
According to Fischer, the summons is a form of diplomatic sanction.
“I have been summoned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A summons is a form of diplomatic sanction. To be honest, this is very unusual. This is the first time in the history of modern Georgian relations with Germany that a German ambassador has been summoned to the ministry.
I will go in and hear what they say. But I also strongly reject the baseless and provocative accusations that have been made against the Federal Republic of Germany, me, and other ambassadors.
I will also criticize the current course of the Georgian government, which is in contradiction with joining the European Union,” Fischer said, the translation of which was released by TV Pirveli.
