**Georgian Opposition Leaders Urge Focus on Weakening Regime**
In an interview with PalitraNews, Saba Buadze, a leader of the opposition movement “Lelo/Strong Georgia,” stressed the need for the public to refocus its attention away from debates over bail payments and towards weakening the current government.
Buadze emphasized that paying bail does not guarantee freedom from imprisonment, as the threat of imprisonment remains. He described this issue as artificially introduced into the political agenda and urged people to stop debating it and instead make decisions aimed at weakening the regime.
According to Buadze, deciding whether to pay bail is a personal and tactical decision, and trying to frame it in terms of consistency or inconsistency is damaging. He pointed out that some leaders, including Zurab Japaridze, have made statements suggesting that paying bail should not be judged as more or less principled.
**Opposition Leaders Refuse to Participate in Parliamentary Commission**
Buadze also spoke about the parliamentary investigative commission, stating that participating in its sessions is equivalent to being complicit in betrayal. He explained that opposition politicians, including their leaders, refused to take part because the commission is actively attacking Georgia’s army and soldiers, as well as the idea of national independence.
**U.S. Senator Marco Rubio’s Statement Confirms No Reset in Relations**
Regarding a recent statement made by U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, Buadze stated that it confirms that under the current government, there will be no reset in relations with the United States. He urged Western partners to eliminate any ambiguity and communicate clearly with the Georgian public and the world.
**Continuing Sanctions Essential for Weakening Regime**
Buadze emphasized the importance of continuing sanctions against the illegitimate regime and its supporters. He stated that these sanctions must be felt by the regime and its supporters, and that they are essential for weakening the government.
In response to Rubio’s statement, Buadze said that it proves that under Georgian Dream, relations with Georgia will only deteriorate, with no reset possible. He urged Western partners to make this clear to the world through direct statements and concrete actions.
