**Georgia’s Economy on the Rise, Despite Opponents’ Predictions**
In a recent government meeting, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze addressed the country’s economic growth, dismissing predictions of an impending crisis made by their political opponents. According to him, the opposition party attempted to create a perception that Georgia was heading towards economic disaster.
**Economic Growth Outpaces Expectations**
Kobakhidze pointed out that one of their opponents had predicted a 2% decline in the economy and a GEL exchange rate against the dollar of around 3.1 by January, whereas today it stands at 2.75. Additionally, they forecasted an inflation rate above 6%, which was not met. In contrast, Georgia experienced a 3.9% economic growth in the first quarter.
**Opponents’ Plans Foiled**
The Prime Minister also highlighted that their tax revenue plan was exceeded by more than 120 million GEL in the first quarter. He emphasized that it is unfortunate when individuals try to create negative expectations and sow nihilism, which has specific political reasons behind it.
**Stability and Security Key to Economic Progress**
Kobakhidze stressed that without peace, security, and stability, economic progress would be impossible. He thanked the economic team for their efforts in achieving this growth and praised the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri for their significant contribution to maintaining stability.
**A Message from the Prime Minister**
The Prime Minister concluded by stating that it is the responsibility of society to ensure further development of the country. He expressed his gratitude to all those involved in achieving this economic progress, emphasizing that they will spare no effort to continue this growth and create additional jobs, increase wages for employees, and promote a prosperous economy.
In conclusion, Georgia’s economy has defied predictions of an impending crisis, experiencing a 3.9% economic growth in the first quarter. This achievement is a testament to the country’s resilience and the hard work of its citizens, who are committed to creating a better future for themselves and their nation.
