Protests Resume on Rustaveli Avenue

Citizens have started gathering again on Rustaveli Avenue, near the Parliament building. They are blocking traffic and demanding change.

This is not a new development. For over 3 months, citizens have been protesting daily with one main demand: new elections and the release of those arrested during previous protests. This is their 111th day of protesting.

A student movement from the SEU has also joined in. They are holding a continuous 24-hour protest for the second day outside the Parliament building. The students plan to keep protesting until the government resigns.

“We want the ‘Georgian Dream’ government to go,” said Leri Darjania, a student leader. “That will automatically lead to new elections.”
