According to the same statement, Datashvili’s lawyers requested her transfer to a medical facility and the immediate provision of all necessary services from the #5 penitentiary institution.
“At this moment, Nino Datashvili’s lawyers have left the penitentiary institution, and according to their information, Nino’s health condition remains critical, and she has difficulty moving. Given the current situation, the hearing scheduled for today in the City Court is likely to be postponed. Nino Datashvili’s lawyers will file a motion regarding this.
Nino Datashvili’s lawyers have requested her transfer to a medical facility and the immediate provision of all necessary services from the #5 institution. The Public Defender’s Office is involved in the case and is already working on the matter.
The substantive consideration of Nino Datashvili’s case was scheduled to resume in the City Court today, September 17, at 3:00 PM,” the statement notes.
For reference, Nino Datashvili was detained on June 20 due to an incident that occurred in the Tbilisi City Court on June 9. She was charged under Part 3 of Article 353 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to assaulting a public servant while performing official duties.
The penalty provides for a fine or imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
