Starting relations with the United States from a clean slate is fundamentally important – we are ready for friendship, cooperation, and partnership, and it is important that this be mutual, – said Kakha Kaladze, General Secretary of “Georgian Dream” and Mayor of Tbilisi, responding to the open letter by Mikheil Kavelashvili regarding U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to him, what happened under the previous U.S. administration was “a complete catastrophe and is categorically unacceptable.”
Specifically, Kaladze stated that every statement made by representatives of the previous U.S. administration was filled with lies, deception, threats, and dirty propaganda.
“I fully agree with the President in all his statements. It is really very important that these relations begin from a new page. Starting relations with the United States from a clean slate is fundamentally important. At the same time, we also support President Trump in both of his main promises – defeating the ‘deep state’ and ending wars. Of course, both are important for our country. However, we always act in accordance with our country’s interests, and as noted in the letter, strategic partnership is important, and the Georgian government is ready for all of this.
What happened under the previous administration was a complete catastrophe. When representatives of such a large state shamelessly insist that black is white and insult you, all of their statements were filled with lies, deception, threats, and dirty propaganda. This is, of course, categorically unacceptable. All our statements and published letters indicated that we have a desire to start relations from a new page. What happened in the past is categorically unacceptable. We are ready for friendship, cooperation, and partnership, and it is important that this be mutual,” Kaladze stated.
