**US and Ukraine Presidents Trade Blows in Oval Office Clash**
A heated exchange between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ended with the canceling of a planned signing ceremony for a mineral agreement.
The confrontation, which turned into a shouting match, took place on February 28. Zelensky had visited the White House to discuss Ukraine’s relations with the US.
**Trump Attacks Zelensky**
After the meeting, Trump posted on Truth Social that Zelensky had “disrespected” the US in its Oval Office and could return when he was ready for peace. Trump also ordered his officials to tell the Ukrainian delegation to leave the White House.
**Zelensky Fires Back**
In a Fox News interview, Zelensky said that Ukraine is “ready for peace” but needs to be in a good position. He pushed back on Trump’s comments, saying that Russia was the aggressor in the war and that Ukraine didn’t want to fight.
“We want peace… that’s why I visited President Trump,” Zelensky said. “I want him to show stronger support for Ukraine rather than positioning himself as a mediator.”
**No Apology Needed**
Zelensky told Fox News’ Bret Baier that he doesn’t feel the need to apologize to Trump after their heated exchange. He respects the US president and its people, but thinks some things should be discussed privately.
**Relationship Can Be Salvaged**
When asked if the relationship could be salvaged, Zelensky replied: “Yes, of course, because it’s more than just between the presidents. It’s a historical relation between our people.”
