**Russia Plans Major Military Escalation**
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine warned that Russia is preparing for a major military escalation, which could target NATO countries next year. He made this statement on February 14 at the Munich Security Conference.
**Russian Forces to Deploy in Belarus**
According to Zelensky, Russia plans to deploy 15 divisions, totaling 100,000 to 150,000 troops, primarily in Belarus. While the buildup might focus on Ukraine, there are concerns that Russian forces could shift towards Poland or the Baltics, raising the risk of a broader conflict with NATO.
**Zelensky Warns of Potential Conflict**
The Ukrainian president expressed his concern about Russia’s intentions and stated that he believes they plan to go to war against NATO countries next year. However, he added that he couldn’t be 100% certain. Zelensky also mentioned that Europe’s security depends on Ukraine’s continued resistance to Russian aggression.
**Ukraine’s Military Situation**
Zelensky highlighted the disparity in military strength between Russia and Ukraine. He stated that Ukraine has 110 brigades, while Russia has 220 brigades and plans to expand to 250 this year. Additionally, Ukraine’s military consists of 880,000 soldiers, tasked with defending the entire country against the 600,000 Russian troops concentrated in specific areas.
