**Ukraine’s President Seeks Trump’s Help to End War**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thinks US President Donald Trump might be able to end the war in Ukraine. But, he says, only if Kyiv is involved in any talks.
Zelensky said that Russian President Vladimir Putin doesn’t want to stop the war. Trump had promised during his election campaign to resolve the conflict within 24 hours of taking office. However, his aides have since suggested it might take months to achieve a resolution.
**Ukraine Must Be Part of Negotiations**
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine needs to be part of any peace talks with Russia and other countries. “Otherwise, it won’t work,” he said. He also expressed uncertainty about how a deal could materialize, noting that even Trump might not fully understand the details.
**Trump’s Stance on Ending War**
Despite the unclear situation, Zelensky believed that Trump genuinely wants to see the war come to an end. He mentioned that Trump has recognized the risks of prolonging the conflict and is willing to engage in talks with Putin.
**Involving European Allies in Talks**
Zelensky also stressed the importance of including European allies in future peace talks, especially as Ukraine seeks to join the European Union. “As for what the set-up of the talks will be: Ukraine, I really hope Ukraine will be there, America, Europe and Russia,” he said.
