**Georgia’s Anti-Regime Resistance Movement Marches On**

On Sunday, May 18th, a large crowd of protesters marched through Tbilisi’s Saburtalo district, stopping at the offices of two government agencies: the Special Investigation Service (SIS) and the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG). This march was just one part of a month-long series of weekend protests in different areas of the capital.

The protest was organized by the Unity platform, which brings together various civic activist groups. The main goal of these marches has been to demand the resignation of the current Georgian Dream government. Protesters also voiced their discontent with the authorities’ actions, including the SSSG’s surveillance practices and the SIS’s failure to address human rights abuses committed by the police.

To express their discontent, protesters released dark smoke at the offices of the state agencies and set off fireworks before moving into the metro at the end of the march. This is now a routine part of these protests, which have been taking place for 172 consecutive days.

The protest received support from local residents, some of whom displayed Georgian and EU flags in solidarity with the protesters. However, not everyone was supportive. In one incident, eggs were thrown from a residential building, hitting both activists and media workers.

**A Long-Running Protest**

These protests have been ongoing for over four months now, with no signs of slowing down. The Unity platform has been working tirelessly to bring attention to the issues affecting Georgia’s society and government. As the country continues on this path, it remains unclear when – or if – these demands will be met.
