Vucevic resigned on Tuesday, saying he feels responsible for the attack on students that took place overnight between Monday and Tuesday. The students were attacked while putting up stickers reading “3 Months, 3 Bridges”, referencing planned protests over a November incident where 15 people died.

**Attacks on Students and Party Offices**

Four men armed with baseball bats chased and attacked the group of students, causing one female student to suffer serious injuries. Student accounts also reported attacks on ruling Serbian Progressive party offices for weeks, including last night.

**President Vucic’s Statement**

Speaking at an emergency press conference, President Vucic outlined the constitutional process ahead. He said that once the prime minister’s resignation is confirmed by Parliament, there is a 30-day deadline to elect a new government. If one is not elected by then, elections will be called.

**Consultations on New Government or Elections**

President Vucic has promised to launch consultations with other parties on whether to form a new government or hold elections. The leader of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party and outgoing Prime Minister Milos Vucevic has already launched talks with Socialist Party of Serbia leader Ivica Dacic, who is not in favor of elections.
