**Serbian President Promotes Top Military Officers**
President Aleksandar Vucic has promoted several top officers in the Serbian Armed Forces. The promotions were announced on Tuesday and approved by Vucic himself.
The promotions included officers at high levels of command, such as brigade commanders and senior air force officials. Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic presented the promotions to other top military leaders.
Among those promoted was Djuro Jovanic, Director of the Military Security Agency, who was made a Lt General. Srdjan Petkovic, chief of the Defense Directorate, also received the same promotion.
The press release announcing the promotions referred to Vucic as the “supreme commander” of the military. However, this title is not mentioned in the Serbian constitution. The constitution does say that the president has command authority over the military.
