**Russia-Ukraine War Update: Day 1164 of Aggression**
As of May 2, 2024, the Russian Federation’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has entered its 1164th day. The General Staff of Ukraine reported a total of 199 combat clashes over the past day.
**Russian Attacks Continue to Intensify**
Yesterday, Russian forces launched three missile and 96 air strikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, using five missiles and 172 guided bombs. They also carried out 5898 attacks, including 61 from multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 2991 kamikaze drones to target Ukrainian defenses.
**Regional Breakdown of Attacks**
* In the Sumy region, Russian forces targeted the settlements of Rohivka, Krasnopillya, Uhroidy, Malaya Rybytsia, Myropilske.
* In the Chernihiv region, Rohivka was hit by air strikes.
* In the Donetsk region, Pokrovsk, Novopil, Zelene Pole, Rozivka, Zelene were attacked.
* In the Zaporizhia region, Svyatopetrivka, Zaliznychne, Novodanylivka, Orikhiv, Novoandriyivka were targeted.
* In the Kherson region, Kherson and Tyahynka were hit.
**Ukrainian Defense Forces Respond**
In response to Russian attacks, Ukrainian missile troops and artillery struck six areas of enemy concentration, one UAV control point, and two air defense systems. The Ukrainian military also repelled multiple enemy assaults in various regions.
* In the Kharkiv direction, eight clashes took place in the areas of Vovchansk, Kamyanka, Topoli, Novovasylivka, and Lyptsiv.
* In the Kupyansk direction, five attacks were recorded, with Ukrainian forces repelling enemy actions in Novoosinove, Hlushkivka, Nova Kruglyakivka, and Zagryzove.
* In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 27 times, attempting to advance in areas around Nadiya, Yampolivka, Kolodyazy, Grekivka, Torske, Ridkodub, and Zelenaya Dolyna.
**Losses and Damage**
The General Staff reported significant losses for Russian forces over the past day. Ukrainian soldiers neutralized 1,110 Russian soldiers, as well as nine tanks, five armored combat vehicles, 50 artillery systems, four air defense systems, 138 operational-tactical-level UAVs, and 132 units of automotive equipment.
**Regional Breakdown of Ukrainian Defense Forces’ Actions**
* In the Kramatorsk direction, six enemy assaults were repelled in Chasiv Yar, Novomarkovo, and towards Bila Hora.
* In the Toretsk direction, four attacks were carried out in Shcherbynivka, Druzhba, and towards Diliivka.
* In the Pokrovsky direction, 64 enemy attacks were stopped in Zvirovo, Elizavetivka, Promyn, Vodyane Druge, Oleksandropil, Malynivka, Lysivka, Dachenske, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Nadiivka, and others.
* In the Novopavlovsk direction, 15 enemy assaults were repelled in Konstantinopol, Novoselka, Pryvilny, Vilny Pole, Bahatyr, and Shevchenko.
**Total Losses**
The estimated total combat losses of the Russian invaders from February 24, 2022, to May 2, 2024, are significant. The General Staff will continue to provide updates on the situation in Ukraine.
