As of May 15, 2025, the 1177th day of Russia’s large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. The conflict remains intense, with both sides suffering significant losses.
**Russian Attacks Surge**
Over the past day, Russian forces launched one missile and 68 air strikes, using one missile and dropping 108 guided aerial bombs. They also deployed 3327 Shahed attack drones to target Ukrainian positions and settlements. In addition, Russia carried out 5298 attacks on Ukrainian troops and civilians, including 151 from multiple launch rocket systems.
**Russian Strikes Hit Multiple Regions**
The areas hit by Russian air strikes include:
* Sumy region: Richki and Bilopillya
* Kharkiv region: Pidlyman and Kupyansk
* Zaporizhzhia region: Yalta, Kostyantynivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirovo, Novoukrainka, Novopil, Donetsk region
* Dnipropetrovsk region: Dachne
* Zaporizhia region: Hulyaipole, Vysoke, Stepnohirsk, Kamyanske
**Ukraine Responds with Force**
In response to Russian aggression, Ukrainian forces struck three areas of concentration for enemy personnel, weapons, and equipment. They also targeted four artillery pieces, one radar, and nine other important enemy facilities.
**Key Battles Take Place Across the Frontline**
Key battles took place in several directions:
* Kharkiv direction: Enemy offensive actions near Vovchansk and Kamyanka
* Kupyanske direction: Attack by invaders repelled near Hlushkivka
* Lyman direction: 24 enemy attacks, including attempts to advance near Nova Kruglyakivka and Hryhorivka
* Siversky direction: Five enemy attacks on Ukrainian positions near Verkhnokamyanske and Bilogorivka
* Kramatorsk direction: Eight clashes near Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka, Bila Hora, and Kurdyumivka
* Toretsk direction: 19 enemy attacks near Toretsk, Krymske, and Diliivka
* Pokrovsky direction: 74 enemy assaults repelled in the areas of Stara Mykolaivka, Yelizavetivka, and others
**Russian Losses Mount**
Over the past day, Russian forces suffered significant losses, with 1,220 soldiers killed. Ukrainian troops also destroyed eight tanks, 13 armored combat vehicles, 45 artillery systems, two MLRS, an air defense system, a helicopter, 140 operational-tactical-level UAVs, 165 vehicles, and eight special equipment.
**Ukrainian Forces Continue to Resist**
Despite Russian aggression, Ukrainian forces remain determined to resist. They continue to undermine the enemy’s offensive potential in the rear and inflict significant losses on occupation forces.
