According to Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Ukrainian companies are now capable of producing four million drones per year. The statement by Umerov highlights Ukraine’s efforts to increase domestic arms production in response to uncertainty over further US support and reduced European partner assistance. However, Umerov noted that not all brigades are able to utilize these funds due to a lack of procurement specialists. To address this issue, the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) launched the DOT Chain Defense marketplace, a platform that streamlines procurement for Ukrainian soldiers. The platform allows teams to directly order what they need, reducing bureaucracy and enabling them to receive supplies ten times faster.

The Ukrainian defense minister’s statement coincides with an increase in Russian drone strikes across Ukraine. In recent weeks, nearly 500 drones and missiles have been launched overnight, highlighting the critical role of drone warfare in modern conflict.
