**Ukraine Boosts Defense with New Twin-Engine Drone**
As Ukraine continues to face challenges in meeting its defense needs, a new weapon has been added to its arsenal. A company called “Darts” has started delivering a twin-engine variant of a drone that can carry a payload of over 12 kilograms.
The company representative showcased the new drone at an event on July 18, highlighting its capabilities and significance in the country’s defense strategy. With Ukraine relying heavily on drones to counter Russia’s war efforts, this new addition is seen as a crucial step forward.
**Drone Warfare Defines Russian-Ukrainian Conflict**
Russia’s war against Ukraine has been marked by extensive use of drone warfare. Both sides have increasingly relied on unmanned systems for reconnaissance and strikes on the battlefield. Ukrainian drones have reportedly targeted Moscow on multiple occasions, including an attack on June 19 that saw drones buzzing over the city for three nights in a row.
**Ukraine’s Drone Production Skyrockets**
In response to the growing demand, Ukraine has significantly increased its own drone production capacity. Ex-Defense Minister Rustem Umerov revealed in June that Ukrainian companies are capable of manufacturing up to 4 million drones annually. This surge in production is aimed at supporting the country’s defense efforts and countering Russia’s use of drones.
**USF Plays Crucial Role in Ukraine’s Defense**
The Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) have been instrumental in Ukraine’s defense, with Commander in Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi stating that they were responsible for every third Russian target hit in June. The USF has played a key role in targeting and eliminating enemy positions.
**Drones Used to Capture Russian Troops**
For the first time, Ukrainian forces have captured Russian troops without using infantry, relying solely on drones and ground-based robotic systems. This achievement was recorded by the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade on July 9. The use of drones has proven effective in minimizing troop losses and adapting to evolving threats.
**Russia Continues Drone Attacks**
Despite Ukraine’s advancements in drone warfare, Russia continues to bomb Ukrainian cities with its own drone and missile attacks. Regional authorities reported at least seven fatalities and 25 injuries on July 18 due to Russian drone strikes. The attacks have also targeted draft offices, disrupting mobilization efforts.
