**Ukrainian Company Unveils New Mine-Laying Drone**
A Ukrainian company called Robotic Complexes has introduced a new drone designed for mine-laying operations. The drone, named Threeminer, was showcased at an international defense exhibition in Istanbul on July 28. This development comes as Ukraine’s military is looking to reduce pressure on infantry units due to recruitment challenges and battlefield losses.
**Increased Use of Unmanned Ground Vehicles**
Ukraine has been actively using unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) in its war efforts. In June, the country’s Defense Ministry gave the green light for the combat use of Robotic Complexes’ Murakha robot, which is designed to transport ammunition, food supplies, and evacuate wounded personnel on the frontline. The Threeminer drone was also developed by Robotic Complexes, a company known for its innovative robotic solutions.
**Affordable and Versatile Drone**
The Threeminer mine-laying drone costs around $3,000 to produce, according to Ihor Chaikivskyi, founder and CEO of Robotic Complexes. This affordable price tag makes the drone an attractive option for Ukraine’s military, which is facing financial constraints due to the ongoing war. The drone can operate remotely using standard batteries with a 10-kilometer range and features night vision capabilities.
**Unique Design**
The Threeminer drone has a unique design that allows it to transform into a logistics drone or even function as a kamikaze drone. Weighing 80 kilograms, it can carry three mines with a total weight of up to 35 kilograms. The drone’s wheels are designed to hold mines, making it a clever and effective solution for mine-laying operations.
**Easy Assembly and Maintenance**
The Threeminer drone is manufactured without welding, which ensures easy assembly and makes production and repair faster and cheaper. This innovative design approach allows the drone to be quickly assembled or disassembled as needed, reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
**Other Robotic Solutions by Robotic Complexes**
Robotic Complexes has also developed other robotic solutions, including a mobile gun platform with a machine gun called “Bogomol” and an electronic warfare robot called “Plyusch”. These robots demonstrate the company’s commitment to providing innovative and effective solutions for Ukraine’s military.
