**Ukraine Launches Investigation into 156th Brigade**
The Ukrainian military has launched an investigation into the 156th Separate Mechanized Brigade. The move comes after a probe into another brigade, the French-trained 155th “Anne of Kyiv” Mechanized Brigade.
Deputy Commander-in-Chief Oleh Apostol will lead the investigation. The purpose is to check the progress of the brigade’s formation and provide help in organizing and preparing for combat operations.
Recent inspections revealed significant shortcomings in the 156th Brigade. To address these problems, plans include replacing the leadership, appointing a commander with practical experience, and transferring experienced officers and sergeants into the unit.
The investigation is one of several measures taken by Ukraine’s military to improve its performance. Earlier this month, Ground Forces Chief Mykhailo Drapatyi said that “inadequate management” and “mistakes in recruitment” contributed to problems with the 155th Brigade.
