A report from the South Korean National Intelligence Service (NIS) has revealed that North Korea is recruiting soldiers for deployment to Russia, in addition to their existing support for Russia’s war efforts. This includes the transfer of over 10 million artillery shells and ballistic missiles in exchange for economic and technical assistance.

The NIS briefing also mentioned that Pyongyang may send up to 25,000 laborers to Russia to support drone production, specifically Shahed-type loitering munitions, at the Alabuga Special Economic Zone in Tatarstan. In return, North Korea seeks training in drone operations, aiming to integrate advanced unmanned aerial capabilities into its own military arsenal.

Meanwhile, explosions were reported in Moscow, with Russia’s Defense Ministry claiming 50 Ukrainian drones were downed across the country. Ukraine’s military regularly strikes military targets deep within Russia as part of their efforts to diminish Moscow’s fighting power during the ongoing war against Ukraine.
