**Ukraine to Receive $84 Million from World Bank for Housing Restoration**

This new injection of cash is part of the World Bank’s Housing Repair for People’s Empowerment (HOPE) project, which aims to address urgent repair needs for partially damaged residential buildings in Ukrainian territory. According to officials, up to 25,000 homes are expected to be repaired using this funding.

The recent funding is not the first assistance provided by the World Bank to Ukraine. In April, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the country would receive $432 million in funding from the World Bank for the restoration of transport infrastructure damaged during the war.
Since its inception, the HOPE project has already provided compensation to over 87,000 households for damages caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The ongoing conflict has seen regular missile and drone attacks on civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings.
