**Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Oil Facility and Air Defense System**

Ukrainian forces have struck a Russian oil facility in Krasnodar Krai and a Buk air defense system in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.

The attack was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Defense Forces. They set fire to the Albashneft oil facility in Novominskaya, which is located 250 kilometers from the front line in Ukraine.

The facility is described as a “mini-refinery” that supplies gasoline and diesel fuel for Russian forces in Ukraine. The extent of damage to the facility is being determined.

**Ukrainian Drone Strikes Continue**

This attack comes as Ukraine ramps up long-range drone strikes against Russian targets in the rear. Earlier this week, Ukrainian drones attacked energy facilities in Russia’s Astrakhan and Volgograd oblasts, causing fires at an oil refinery and a gas processing plant.

The General Staff also reported a successful hit against the Buk air defense system in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, saying that “damage to the target was recorded.”

**Russia Launches Ballistic Missiles and Drones**

In response to these attacks, Russia launched two ballistic missiles and 104 Shahed-type attack drones against Ukraine overnight.

**International Reaction**

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy arrived in Kyiv on February 5 to discuss Ukrainian-British cooperation and Ukraine’s security.

The US has also been involved in diplomatic efforts. President Donald Trump proposed a deal that could involve the US taking over the Gaza Strip, but this was met with skepticism by Ukrainian officials.

**Casualties**

Ukraine has lost 45,100 soldiers on the battlefield since Russia’s full-scale invasion began in February 2022. Russian forces have suffered 1,140 casualties just over the past day.
