**Foreign Volunteers Escape Russian Missile Strike in Kryvyi Rih**

A group of foreign volunteers had just finished dinner at a hotel restaurant in Kryvyi Rih when they received a warning that a Russian ballistic missile was heading towards the city.

“We decided to go to the shelter, but we didn’t have enough time,” said British volunteer Karol Swiacki. The group quickly stood up and tried to make their way to safety, but it was too late. A huge explosion rocked the area, causing heavy damage to the hotel and nearby buildings.

**Five Killed and 32 Injured in Attack**

The strike killed five people and injured 32 others, including two children. Governor Serhii Lysak reported on the severity of the attack.

Apart from the hotel, the missile strike also damaged 14 apartment buildings, a post office, almost two dozen cars, a cultural center, and 12 shops.

**Survivors Describe Chaos and Destruction**

Swiacki described the scene after the explosion: “People were screaming. There were people with blood on their faces, dead people.” He said it was like being in a nightmare.

The group was fortunate to have escaped injury, but they witnessed the devastating effects of the attack firsthand. Swiacki’s team had checked into the hotel just before the strike, and he credits them for surviving.

**Volunteers Continue to Support Ukraine**

Despite the dangers, Swiacki and his team continue to bring humanitarian aid to Ukraine. They have delivered over five tons of supplies across the country since February 2022, including power generators, wheelchairs, and medical equipment.

The attack on Kryvyi Rih has only strengthened their resolve to support Ukraine. “We’re continuing to support Ukraine,” Swiacki said. “Many people would say we should stop, but no, it works the other way around.”

**Call for International Support**

Swiacki expressed frustration with the lack of international support for Ukraine. He called on world leaders, including former US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, to visit Ukraine and see the reality of the war.

“We need air defense all over Ukraine to stop these killings,” he said. “No one can defend against these rockets without air defense.”
