**Trump Calls for Ceasefire in Ukraine Conflict**
US President Donald Trump has called for an immediate ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. He warned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that he must pursue peace or risk losing American support.
**Tough Stance on Ukraine**
Trump has taken a confrontational stance towards Ukraine, criticizing Zelensky for being “disrespectful” and accusing him of gambling with World War III. Trump wants a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia, suggesting that Ukraine should make concessions. He even suggested that he could negotiate an agreement giving Ukraine almost all the land.
**Heated Meeting at White House**
Recently, Trump delivered an ultimatum to Zelensky during a heated Oval Office meeting. He said “You’re either going to make a deal or we’re out.” Later, Trump declared that Zelensky was not ready for peace if America is involved. This led to the US abruptly canceling the signing of a minerals deal with Ukraine.
**Minerals Deal**
The proposed agreement aimed to create a fund where Ukraine would allocate half of the revenue from the commercialization of its state-owned mineral resources, including oil and gas infrastructure. However, Ukraine pushed back against two draft proposals, arguing they placed one-sided obligations on Kyiv without offering any security guarantees from Washington.
**Trump’s Call for Peace**
“We want peace,” Trump told reporters after the meeting. He said that Zelensky overplayed his hand and that Russia’s President Vladimir Putin wants to end the conflict. Trump warned Zelensky that he must stop the fighting and death, or risk losing American support.
