**Trump Wants Palestinians to Leave Gaza**

US President Donald Trump wants neighbours in Egypt and Jordan to accept Palestinians from Gaza. He said this would “clean up” the area.

Gaza is a crowded place with many people living there. Trump called it a “demolition area”. He suggested that maybe 1-2 million people could be moved out of Gaza. But both Hamas, which governs Gaza, and the Palestinian Authority have condemned this idea. Jordan and Egypt also said no.

**Ceasefire in Place**

There has been a ceasefire in Gaza since Israel and Hamas made a deal. The war started when Hamas attacked Israel on October 7th, 2023. Over 1,200 people died and many more were hurt. More than 47,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces.

**Rejection from Jordan and Palestine**

The Foreign Minister of Jordan said that the country will not accept any plans to move Palestinians out of Gaza. The Palestinian President also rejected Trump’s idea, saying it is against Palestinian rights.

A displaced man in Gaza responded to Trump’s comments by saying: “We are the ones who decide our fate and want.” He said they won’t leave their land unless as corpses.

**US Policy**

For decades, US foreign policy has been about creating a Palestinian State with Gaza as its key part. But Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejects this idea. Some right-wing politicians in Israel have suggested that Palestinians should move out of Gaza so Jewish settlements can be rebuilt there.
