Ukraine to Host US Envoy in February

The Ukrainian government is preparing to host Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Chief of Staff, Andriy Yermak.

Kellogg will visit Ukraine on February 20th. He had initially planned to come in January, but the trip was postponed due to legal reasons.

Yermak said that it is very important for Zelensky and his team that the new US administration receives full and realistic information about the situation on the battlefield as soon as possible.

Ukraine wants Washington to be fully informed about its mobilization efforts and the supply of weapons and equipment. Yermak also emphasized the importance of communication in developing a common position with partners.

Yermak has already spoken with US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and further contacts with other Trump administration officials are expected.

Ukrainian officials are finalizing details for the first visit of a US delegation to Ukraine since Trump’s return to office. President Zelensky said that this visit will take place soon.

Kellogg has co-authored a peace plan that would freeze the front line in Ukraine, take NATO’s accession off the table for an extended period, and partially lift sanctions imposed on Russia.
