Serbian Rulers Call Protests a “Madness”
The main politician of Serbia’s ruling party, Milenko Jovanov, said something important on Monday. He said that the “counter-revolution” spoken about by President Aleksandar Vucic is not the same as what authorities call the “colored revolution”.
The colored revolution refers to student protests against the government. The rulers claim these protests want to destroy the country. Jovanov said that the counter-revolution is a return to normal life.
He also said that people who support the government and those who are against it will never meet at the same time or place. This is according to President Vucic, who recently told a group of people that Serbia will be invited to gather in Belgrade soon. The gathering could happen as early as 3 days from now.
Jovanov added that the gathering will not be like one organized by the Milosevic regime many years ago, which was meant to counter widespread protests. He emphasized that the authorities do not want to use force or create conflicts.
