**Georgian Prime Minister Urges Strengthened Europe**
In a recent roundtable discussion, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze emphasized the importance of a strong and united Europe. The event, titled “Strengthening Europe’s Security and Democratic Resilience,” was held as part of the European Political Community Summit.
Kobakhidze stressed that Europe’s current trends are alarming, with many countries facing the threat of losing their identity. He warned that Europe is also struggling to be a strong player on the world stage, making it difficult for the continent to protect its partners. The Prime Minister used Ukraine as an example, noting that in times of war, other countries cannot expect guarantees of protection.
**Georgia’s Achievements Overlooked**
Kobakhidze also highlighted Georgia’s achievements and expressed frustration with the country’s unfair treatment by European institutions. He pointed out that Georgia surpasses some EU candidate countries in many criteria, yet receives less attention. The Prime Minister emphasized that this unfair attitude damages the image of European institutions.
**Hope for a Stronger Europe**
Despite these concerns, Kobakhidze remained optimistic about the future of Europe. He expressed hope that significant changes will take place, leading to a stronger and more united continent. He believes that a rules-based international order is essential, and a strong Europe is crucial in achieving this goal.
**International Participation**
The roundtable discussion was co-chaired by the Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom and Sweden. Other participating leaders included the Prime Ministers of Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Armenia, and Estonia. The Presidents of Greece and Ukraine, as well as the Secretary General of the OSCE, also attended the event.
