The draft resolution was presented at the session by the chairman of the “Georgian Dream” faction, Irakli Kirtskhalia.
The conclusions prepared by the investigative commission were approved by the Parliament’s resolution, thereby turning the commission’s report into an official parliamentary document.
The temporary investigative commission was established in the 11th convocation of the Parliament in February, and its mandate was extended three times. The commission was initially formed to study the period when the “National Movement” was in power, but its mandate was soon expanded to include the examination of the activities of former officials from 2003 to the present. The temporary investigative commission was chaired by the Parliament’s Vice-Speaker, Tea Tsulukiani.
The commission’s final report was presented to the deputies by Tea Tsulukiani on the first day of the autumn session, September 2. The document spans approximately 500 pages.
