Law enforcement officers have arrested one individual on charges of the illegal cultivation of a plant containing a particularly large amount of a narcotic substance.
According to the information released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative measures and investigative activities carried out by employees of the Central Criminal Police Department, a person born in 1975, identified as G.M., who has a prior criminal record, was detained on charges of the illegal cultivation of a plant containing a particularly large amount of a narcotic substance.
The crime is punishable by up to 12 years of imprisonment.
“During a search conducted at G.M.’s residence in Sagarejo Municipality, law enforcement officers seized as evidence 33 cannabis plants from specially equipped so-called ‘grow boxes.’ An investigation into the fact of the illegal cultivation of a plant containing a particularly large amount of a narcotic substance is underway under Article 265¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia,” the statement reads.
