Georgian Basketball Team Gets Honors
The Georgian government has decided to give special awards to the country’s national basketball team. Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze made this announcement during a government meeting.
The team has achieved great success by qualifying for the EuroBasket tournament six years in a row. The Prime Minister said it is time to recognize their achievement with state honors.
Members of the national team, the federation leaders, and especially the players will be given the Order of Honor. Two standout basketball players, Tornike Shengelia and Giorgi Shermadini, have been chosen for the highest honor in Georgia, the Order of Excellence.
These awards are a way to say thank you to the team and players for their hard work and dedication. The decorations will happen soon, according to the Prime Minister.
