 The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office has announced that it has charged one individual in connection with the illegal acquisition and dissemination of private information, coercion into sexual intercourse, stalking, and threats.
According to the information provided, the investigation established that the accused illegally obtained photos and videos related to the victim’s private life and, by threatening to disseminate them, coerced the victim into engaging in sexual intercourse on multiple occasions.
The accused systematically monitored the victim’s movements, clothing, and interactions with friends through electronic means, maintaining unwanted communication with the victim. In addition, the accused threatened the victim and a family member with death. Furthermore, using the internet, the accused disseminated information about intimate relationships between the victim and several other individuals.
The accused has been charged under Part 1 of Article 157 Prima (illegal dissemination of private information), Part 1 of Article 139 (coercion into sexual intercourse), Part 1 of Article 151 Prima (stalking), and Part 1 of Article 151 (threats) of the Criminal Code of Georgia. These offenses carry a penalty of up to 7 years of imprisonment.
Based on the prosecution’s motion, the accused was ordered into pre-trial detention as a preventive measure.
