The first sessions of the municipal councils elected in the October 4, 2025 elections will be held across Georgia on October 30, 2025. According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), these sessions are scheduled for 11:00 AM. The mandates of the newly elected mayors and council members will begin on October 29, 2025.
The CEC stated that in Tbilisi, the first council session will be opened by CEC Chairperson Giorgi Kalandarishvili, while in the regions, the sessions will be opened by the chairpersons of the respective district election commissions.
At its meeting today, the CEC summarized the results of the Tbilisi mayoral and council elections. According to the results, Kakha Kaladze, the candidate of “Georgian Dream,” was elected Mayor of Tbilisi with 215,363 votes, or 71.627% of the total. The CEC reported that 324,798 voters participated in the Tbilisi mayoral election.
The CEC also summarized the results of the Tbilisi municipal council elections held under the proportional system. According to the final protocol, 325,061 voters participated. The mandates in the Tbilisi municipal council were distributed as follows: “Conservatives for Georgia” – 1 mandate, “Strong Georgia-Lelo” – 2 mandates, “Girchi” – 2 mandates, and “Georgian Dream” – 20 mandates. In the majoritarian system elections, “Georgian Dream” won all 25 mandates in the Tbilisi municipal council.
District election commissions across the country also summarized the election results. Based on the final protocols, the CEC received information about the elected council members and mayors at today’s meeting.
