Court Fines Gigi Ugulava 5,000 Gel
Gigi Ugulava, a politician from the opposition, has been found guilty of an administrative offense by a court. He was sentenced to pay a fine of 5,000 Georgian Lari (GEL).
The court hearing took place without Ugulava’s attendance. According to the charges against him, Ugulava artificially blocked a road on January 17 during a protest on Rustaveli Avenue. This action was considered unjustified by the authorities.
Ugulava was charged under Article 174^1, Part 4 of the Administrative Offenses Code. He now has to pay the fine as an administrative penalty.
