Tengiz Sharmanashvili: People were expelled from the team because they were working against the state, they continue to do so and do not understand that it will not go so easily any longer
[People were expelled from Georgian Dream because they were engaged in anti-state activities – they continue to do so and do not understand that anti-state activities will not go so easily any longer – they will all be exposed for their connections with foreign countries, which are very damaging to Georgia and its interests, – Georgian Dream MP Tengiz Sharmanashvili told journalists, responding to the statement of one of the leaders of the National Movement, Sopo Japaridze, that “Kobakhidze and Georgian Dream should expect many more surprises from their former teammates.”
According to him, Georgian Dream should not expect anything, but on the contrary, “former members of the party should expect exposure.”
Sharmanashvili does not specifically name which former members of Georgian Dream he is talking about.
“I even find it embarrassing to talk about those who were expelled from the team, who are engaged in a thousand activities not only against the team, but also against Georgia. The Prime Minister of Georgia spoke about this. I will not repeat the nickname with which Khabeishvili received fees in connection with this “act of treason”. Of course, this is expected. These people were thrown out of the team because they were engaged in anti-state activities. They were not conducting their activities in the right direction and, of course, they continue to do so. But I want to say one thing that they and many others do not seem to understand that anti-state activities will no longer go easily. They will all be exposed for having connections with foreign countries that are very harmful to Georgia and its interests. So, we should not expect anything, they should expect to be exposed,” Sharmanashvili said.
The Georgian Dream MP notes that both current and former members of the party will be arrested if they have committed a criminal offense.
“If they have committed a criminal offense, both former and current members will be arrested. As for evidence, you know that the Georgian state does not arrest anyone without high-quality evidence, so when there is sufficient evidence that meets the highest standards, then justice will be served. If there is no such evidence, no one will be arrested,” Sharmanashvili said.
