Tazo Datunashvili, a member of “Lelo-Strong Georgia,” commented on Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s decision to cancel a scheduled meeting with the OSCE Chairperson and Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, who was visiting Georgia. Datunashvili noted that it’s not surprising that Kobakhidze insulted the Finnish Foreign Minister, but what was surprising was that the Finnish minister met with Georgia’s so-called Foreign Minister.
According to Datunashvili’s assessment, the country is undergoing rapid and absolute political degradation.
“The fact that the usurpers of Georgia’s government are pro-Russian, isolationist, a kind of neo-Bolsheviks in modern Georgia, and are hurling baseless, fantastical accusations left and right, including targeting the OSCE Chairperson, is not surprising. This is a logical chain and an integral part of the policy that ‘Georgian Dream’ is implementing in this country—complete isolation of Georgia in the Russian authoritarian world, or rather, the authoritarian world in general. We have entered a very difficult phase in our state’s development. Everyone must understand that it’s one step from here to expelling diplomats and closing borders. This is all reality, nothing is hypothetical. The borders are already practically closed. People are let in and out under the control of the KGB. Absolute political degradation is happening in this country at full speed. The fact that today, the entire ‘Georgian Dream’ is insulting this person is a logical part of this policy,” Datunashvili stated.
For context, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze canceled a scheduled meeting with the OSCE Chairperson and Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen, who was visiting Georgia.
“Yesterday, due to her participation in an illegal rally and making false statements, the Prime Minister canceled the scheduled meeting with the Finnish Foreign Minister,” the Georgian government stated.
As a reminder, yesterday, Elina Valtonen, the OSCE Chairperson and Finnish Foreign Minister, attended a protest near the Parliament and spoke with the participants.
