**Man Attempts to Crash Car into Russian Embassy in Sweden**
On January 28, a man tried to drive his car through the gates of Russia’s embassy in Stockholm. The incident happened early in the morning and was reported by the Swedish television channel SVT Nyheter.
The police arrived soon after and detained the suspect. He is believed to be a 45-year-old man, but his nationality has not been confirmed. No one was hurt in the incident, which is being investigated as “gross trespassing.”
**Russia’s Embassy Has Been Targeted Before**
This is not the first time Russia’s embassy in Sweden has been targeted. In late 2024, an unmanned drone dropped paint on the building. Sweden’s embassy in Moscow had also been vandalized before that incident.
**Tensions Between West and Russia Continue to Rise**
The attempted car crash comes amid ongoing tensions between Western countries and Russia since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The European Commission is considering alternatives to pre-war trade rules, including quotas for agricultural products and additional safeguards.
