Sweden Supports Ukrainian Women

The Swedish Embassy in Ukraine announced on March 8 that Sweden will give $2.2 million to help women in Ukraine.

This money will be used to support Ukrainian women’s contributions to the country’s defense and recovery. The embassy said this is a way of saying thank you to Ukrainian women who are working bravely to defend their country and Europe.

The funding will go through UN-Women, an organization that supports women worldwide.

This new support comes after Sweden announced a large military aid package to Ukraine worth over $1.2 billion on January 30. This was the largest amount of military aid given by Sweden since Russia’s invasion in 2022.
