Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic is getting support from important countries. Three months into student protests, he seems to have the backing of governments in Russia, China, and the United States.
Vucic recently spoke at a news conference about the demands of students who are protesting against him. They want answers for 15 deaths caused by the collapse of a concrete awning at a railway station in Novi Sad. Vucic said that US President’s special advisor Richard Grenell told him that Washington does not support protesters who break laws or take over government buildings.
