Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic is getting support from important countries. Three months into student protests, he seems to have the backing of governments in Russia, China, and the United States.

Vucic recently spoke at a news conference about the demands of students who are protesting against him. They want answers for 15 deaths caused by the collapse of a concrete awning at a railway station in Novi Sad. Vucic said that US President’s special advisor Richard Grenell told him that Washington does not support protesters who break laws or take over government buildings.

Serbian students have been taking over their university schools and making demands to the government. They want answers for the deaths in Novi Sad. Vucic said that their demands have been met, but the students disagree. They say they are not being controlled by America or any other country.

Vucic’s allies in Russia and China have also spoken out against the student protests. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the West is trying to change the will of voters in Serbia after every election. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said that Beijing supports Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
