Students’ unions meet to discuss student concerns

**Serbian Unions Support University Students**

Five of Serbia’s biggest unions have promised to help university students who are protesting. The unions met at Belgrade University on Saturday.

The Sloga union, Alliance of Independent Unions, United Branch Unions Nezavisnost, Association of Free and Independent Unions, and Confederation of Free Unions all agreed to meet with the students. They decided to work together to change two laws: the Labor Law and the Law on Strikes.

The unions said they support the students’ demands. They also want to make changes to the Labour Law and the Law on Strikes. To do this, they have formed a group of lawyers who will help draft proposals.

**Next Steps**

This week, the union’s working group will meet at Belgrade University’s Law School. This is their first meeting together. The unions hope that by working together, they can make changes to the laws and improve workers’ rights.
