**Ukrainian Leader Visits Lincolnshire**

Oleksandr Prokudin, the governor of Ukraine’s war-torn Kherson Oblast province, has visited Lincolnshire. He met with local leaders and signed an agreement to work with the county’s agricultural businesses.

The Memorandum of Understanding aims to provide “moral support” to Kherson, which has been heavily affected by the Russian invasion. The city was seized and retaken in 2022. Today, over 70% of the province is occupied by Russian forces.

Prokudin visited Lincoln City Council’s headquarters and met with Councillor Colin Davie. He also toured the University of Lincoln’s Riseholme campus and visited a Siemens factory.

**Agriculture and Economy**

Davie said that Lincolnshire’s farming and food businesses can share their expertise and technology with Kherson to help rebuild the region. He hopes for future deals between the two areas, which have similar industries in abundance.

“This opens up economic opportunities and builds on our friendship with that region,” Davie said.

**Call to Action**

Prokudin also called on European leaders to take action against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. “Europe has to wake up,” he said. “Putin will not stop with Ukraine.” Prokudin met with Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who is set to visit the White House for talks with US President Donald Trump.
