According to the Chairman of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, the conclusion of the temporary investigative commission will be translated, and this will be done especially for those who still have some sentiments regarding the National Movement regime.
As Papuashvili noted at the plenary session of the Parliament, the conclusion prepared by the investigative commission is a chance for foreign politicians to understand what kind of criminal regime they supported.
“It is regrettable that to this day, we hear from various people, including representatives of the authorities, not only the belittling of the brutality of the “National” regime, but on the contrary – even praise.
Just recently, a short while ago, we heard from the Polish Foreign Minister that he calls Mikheil Saakashvili a modernizer – the person whose actions we heard today in the form of a commission report on what he did to the country in which he grew up and whose citizen he was for a certain period of time. Although he swears by the flag of another country today, this country gave him the opportunity to be at the head of the government for a certain period of time.
So, I think this is a good opportunity, including for those foreigners who missed the chance to properly assess the dictatorial regime that was established in 2012. Now this is a second chance that is given to foreign politicians, representatives of the authorities or representatives of various organizations. Now Georgian society is giving them a second chance to understand what a criminal regime they supported once, protected once, and some still protect. This is a chance before the Georgian people, a chance given to them by the Georgian people, to once again condemn the regime that existed in the form of the National Movement, including with the special support of some foreign powers,” Shalva Papuashvili said.
