Georgian Parliament Chairman Reacts to Former President’s Comments.
Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, is upset with the words of the country’s fifth president, Salome Zurabishvili. She recently said that a small country like Georgia cannot humiliate America.
Papuashvili thinks this shows a lack of respect for the people of Georgia. He believes that true friendship between countries comes from mutual respect, not one side bossing the other around.
Papuashvili is referring to an interview Zurabishvili gave to journalist Alex Raufoğlu. In it, she said that America’s strength and position should be respected, even if it’s more powerful than Georgia. Papuashvili sees this as a betrayal of the country and its people.
