This person, armed with an EU flag, was trying to overthrow the government in front of Georgia’s parliament, wrote Georgia’s Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, responding to a statement by Margus Tsahkna regarding the Estonia-Russia border, where it was noted that seven armed Russian soldiers were spotted on the Russian side, prompting Estonia to close the road to prevent potential incidents.
“They spotted seven… seven… and they spotted them… And this person, armed with an EU flag, was trying to overthrow the government in front of Georgia’s parliament, and having failed to do so, declared a triple Olympic champion [Lasha Talakhadze], who has won more gold medals than his country’s Olympic team in the last 20 years, an undesirable person in his own country.
If only we knew who is running modern Europe,” Papuashvili writes.
For reference, Estonia announced that it temporarily closed a road at the Russian border.
Estonia’s Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated on the social network X that seven armed Russian soldiers were spotted near a road section in southeastern Estonia on the Russian side.
“On Friday, on this road, on the Russian side, we spotted seven armed Russian soldiers. To avoid potential incidents, we temporarily halted traffic,” he wrote.
Tsahkna added that despite the unusual activity, the situation at the border remains calm.
“Reports that the situation at the Estonia-Russia border is escalating are exaggerated,” Tsahkna noted.
