Let Mr. Paata ensure that no violence takes place tomorrow, otherwise he is not only politically responsible but also officially the organizer of tomorrow’s gathering, and he will be the first to bear responsibility for anything that happens, stated Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili during a briefing at the “Georgian Dream” Gorgasali office.
According to Shalva Papuashvili, during protests, opposition politicians often pointed fingers at each other when violence occurred, but this time it will not be the case, as Paata Burchuladze has “already legally formalized his responsibility.”
“In previous cases, if organizers were not identified and then pointed fingers at each other when violence occurred—sometimes Giorgi Vashadze would say, ‘Let’s circle the parliament,’ and then claim, ‘What do I have to do with it, why did you listen to me?’—Paata Burchuladze has registered himself as the organizer of tomorrow’s rally. Therefore, he will be the first to bear responsibility for anything that happens. Of course, everyone else is also responsible—the National Movement, NGOs that are co-organizers—but he has already legally formalized this as his responsibility. So, let him ensure that no violence occurs at the rally. Even a single act of violence will be his personal responsibility,” stated Shalva Papuashvili.
