Georgia is not a low fence for anyone, including the European Union, so the EU ambassador, as well as other embassies, organizations, and politicians, should stop looking down on the Georgian people – we do not need to be taught democracy from some European countries, – the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, told journalists.
According to him, the EU ambassador must answer a very simple question: will he continue to finance a person, who calls for political murder and sneering at human death, with the money of EU citizens?
“What we saw is the following: it turned out that a person who calls for political murder and speaks cynically about the death of one of the outstanding politicians in the modern history of Georgia, Levan Gachechiladze, is being financed with the money of EU citizens. Of course, we also see a certain parallel with what is happening today in America from the side of liberals, when they sneer about the death of a person and we see people with exactly the same morality, the same type, unfortunately, in Georgia and the fact is that this person is financed with the money of EU citizens. The EU ambassador may not have known that he was financing a person who calls for political murder and sneers at the death of people, but he has heard about it for several days now, and the silence that we see from Pawel Herczyński is probably worse than those statements. This is exactly the problem we were talking about. On the one hand, when good things are done with their funding, they brag about it, they take photos, but when it becomes clear that the people they are funding are calling for political murder and sneering at the death of a person, they remain silent and hide from the Georgian society. Therefore, my wish would be that instead of Pawel Herczyński hiding from the Georgian people, he would answer these questions, and the question is simple, whether he intends to continue funding the person, who is calling for political murder and sneering at the death of a person, with the money of EU citizens.
Georgia is not a low fence for anyone, including the EU, if the Georgian people are annoyed by anything based on their historical experience, it is when they are looked down upon. Therefore, both the EU ambassador and other embassies, organizations and politicians should stop looking down upon the Georgian people. There is no low fence here, we do not need to be taught democracy by some European countries, where Georgia has better ratings in various directions and we do not need to be taught the rule of law. Therefore, let the Georgian people act in accordance with the legislation,” Papuashvili said.
