**Serbian Church Criticizes Students**
The Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) has spoken out against a group of students who disrupted the annual St Sava ceremony at the Matica Srpska institution.
According to reports, the students stood up during the ceremony and read a poem written in 1981 by the head of the oldest Serbian cultural institution. The poem mentioned a railway station and an awning.
The SPC has criticized the students for “violently interrupting” the ceremony with an anti-Christian and anti-Serb message. In a statement, the Church said that some students were living in a “parallel universe” where they disagreed with the rest of the student body.
The SPC has joined President Aleksandar Vucic in condemning the actions of the students. The incident highlights the growing divide between different groups within Serbia’s student community.
