**President Warns Against Repeating 1921 Occupation**
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili spoke at a rally on Rustaveli Avenue, marking the 90th day of pro-democracy and pro-EU protests. She reminded Georgians that another occupation like in 1921 should not be allowed to happen.
On February 25, 104 years ago, the Russian Red Army invaded Georgia and took Tbilisi after several days of heavy fighting. President Zurabishvili compared this event with the current situation where Russia spreads disinformation and has aggressive intentions while pretending to have peaceful motives.
**No Repeating History**
President Zurabishvili said: “We are standing here… so that 1921 does not repeat itself.” She urged Georgians not to let Russian occupation happen again. The President also praised the resistance of those who fought against the Red Army in 1921, saying it is a great inspiration and hope for modern Georgians.
**No Giving Up**
The President stated that Georgia will not give up its future, independence, or European path. She mentioned the example of the fallen on February 25, 2021, and said they are alive through the people who stand there today. President Zurabishvili also criticized the GD authorities for trying to silence protesters with water cannons, rubber bullets, and insults.
**No Surrender**
Despite Russian aggression, President Zurabishvili emphasized that Georgia will not give up its European path or independence. She accused the Georgian Dream government of failing to provide adequate emergency help in Western Georgia, which was heavily hit by a snowstorm.
**New Elections as Solution**
The President reiterated that new elections are the only peaceful solution to the deep political crisis. She expressed confidence that new elections will be called and promised to present a document outlining the modalities for new elections soon.
