Georgian President Meets with Opposition Leaders

The fifth President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, is holding a meeting with representatives from opposition parties. These include the “United National Movement,” “For Georgia,” “Strong Georgia” coalition, and “Coalition for Change.”

Badri Japaridze, leader of “Strong Georgia,” said the meeting was initiated by President Zurabishvili. He emphasized that joint efforts would continue.

Japaridze stated: “Unity, coordination, and society’s consolidation are crucial in saving the country during a crisis. I don’t know what topics we’ll discuss today since we were invited by the President. Last week, our meeting with European ambassadors was productive, and I believe our work will continue.”

Eka Beselia, leader of the “For Justice” party, also attended the meeting. She said it’s a working session to address accumulated issues.

Beselia stated: “This is a working meeting. The parties expressed their wish to meet with the President. Topics for discussion are not hard to guess. I can provide more details after the meeting concludes.”

The meeting is taking place in a closed format, without diplomats present. Participants aim to align perspectives and ensure good coordination on ongoing issues.
