Kobakhidze will use his visit to Copenhagen for a PR campaign to convince his remaining supporters that someone is talking to him somewhere – the reality is that the EU accession process has been suspended and we have not seen a single statement from European leaders indicating any changes in this direction, – said one of the leaders of Lelo-Strong Georgia, Salome Samadashvili.
According to Samadashvili, the format of the European Political Community implies inviting all European states, and Georgian Dream is respectively present in Copenhagen.
“The format of the European Political Community implies inviting representatives of all states located on the European continent. We see that a representative of the Georgian Dream regime has been invited there respectively. In parallel with this, in fact, a process is underway in the Council of Europe, which calls into question Georgia’s continued membership even in the Council of Europe. Everyone should understand that the only purpose for which Kobakhidze will use his visit to Copenhagen is a PR campaign to convince his remaining supporters that someone, somewhere, is talking to him. The reality is that the EU accession process has been suspended. We have not seen any statements from European leaders indicating any changes in this direction. However, we have seen that the Council of Europe is already considering increasing pressure on the Georgian Dream regime through an interstate lawsuit. This is the reality that the Russian policy of Kobakhidze and Bidzina Ivanishvili has created in the country,” Salome Samadashvili said.
For information, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze is participating in the European Political Community (EPC) Summit, which is being held today in Copenhagen, the capital of the Kingdom of Denmark.
Within the framework of the 7th EPC Conference, leaders of various countries, including European states, and heads of international institutions are discussing strengthening security and stability on the European continent through promoting political dialogue and cooperation. The summit opened with a plenary session. Thematic discussions in a round table format are also planned. Irakli Kobakhidze is participating in the discussion, the main topic of which is “Economic Security – Reducing European Dependencies.”
The Prime Minister of Georgia traveled to the European Political Community Summit with a delegation, which includes Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili and Chief of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
