According to her, this decision is in no way directed against the political force “Gakharia for Georgia.” However, given the extremely difficult domestic and foreign challenges facing Georgia today, she has made a decision that is personally very difficult but, in her view, civically correct.
“As you know, since 2021, I have been a member of the political council of the ‘Gakharia for Georgia’ party and the curator of the education and culture direction. It was in my capacity as a member of this political party that I endeavored to do beneficial work for the country. You also know that I have a parliamentary mandate, which I obtained through difficult and challenging joint work with colleagues and friends. However, today, amidst the extremely grave domestic and foreign challenges facing Georgia, I have made a decision that is personally very difficult but, I believe, civically correct for the sake of my children and their generation’s future. I am renouncing my parliamentary mandate and leaving the party. P.S. I loudly and clearly declare that my decision is in no way directed against the political force ‘Gakharia for Georgia.’ My colleagues remain my friends and respected professionals, and I wish them success on this path,” she writes on social media.
